Yeah I agree... it almost seemed like what we were listening to at Rutledge was Derek affirming the validity of his campaign, which I wasn't too impressed with. But I'm trying not to let that overshadow the actual record. He has some great things to say in it, and he nailed the new sound. Coming Tuesday!!

I did not make the trip to Nashville and am grateful for it. It's cool and all that Derek brought people over to his home/studio, but for everyone else out at the Rutledge, he should of at least performed a few songs. You weren't the only one there from out of state and we all thought it would be a concert. Going to a coffee shop to listen to the album is a pretty lame alternative.

Overall, the scavenger hunt was a pretty cool idea, but parts of it could have been done much better. I got one of the Raleigh artifact and was surprised at how useless the actual artifact was. It contained a passcode for 2 concert tickets and 5 tiny files, all of which appeared online about an hour after I got them (and it's not as though I had to upload them either). The files themselves were useless and only helped complete the puzzle of a song that was posted online to anyone just moments after the last stems were posted. It would have been much cooler had he just put complete songs on each artifact and let people leak them online on their own.
